Windows 11 OS Upgrade

Overview

The Windows 11 OS Upgrade job in SureMDM allows IT Admins to upgrade eligible Windows 10 devices to Windows 11 using a seamless, enterprise-ready deployment workflow. This job simplifies large-scale OS upgradation by enabling a consistent, centralized deployment approach across enterprise environments.

This feature is supported on Windows devices with the SureMDM Agent version 6.10.0 or later.

To create a Windows 11 OS Upgrade job:

  1. Log in to the SureMDM console.
  2. Navigate to Jobs > New Job > Windows.
  3. Select Windows 11 OS Upgrade from the list of available job types.
  4. Review the Prerequisites in the popup.
  5. Click Proceed to access job configuration.
  6. Configure the job as explained below.

Prerequisites

Before deploying the job, ensure the following:

  • Ensure the device is online with a stable internet connection and is connected to a power source throughout the upgrade.
  • Ensure the device is running a licensed and up-to-date version of Windows 10.
  • Ensure the device has at least 9 GB of free disk space available on the system drive.
  • With a stable and good internet connection, the upgrade typically completes in approximately one and a half hours.
  • Approximate data usage for the upgrade is 2.65 GB, though this may vary depending on the device.
  • Do not reboot or shutdown the device during the upgrade.
  • Windows 11 upgrade is only supported on devices with x64 (64-bit) processors; ARM-based and x86 (32-bit) devices are not supported.

Job Configuration Options

Job NameSpecify a name for the job.
Upgrade TypeSelect the Windows 11 version for upgrade (Currently supports — Windows 11 24H2)
Install QuietlySelect this option to perform the upgrade silently, without displaying the Windows installation UI to the end user.
  1. Once done, click Save to save the changes. The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section.
  2. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.
  3. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the job and click Apply.
