Time Fence Job (Windows)
The Time Fence option creates time-based boundaries for mobile devices, restricting their behavior and functionality during specific periods. Administrators have the flexibility to set policies on these devices by assigning jobs to be executed when the device enters or exits this defined time fence. This feature enables precise control over device actions and configurations, allowing organizations to implement tailored settings for different time frames. By utilizing the Time Fence option, administrators can ensure that devices automatically adjust their behavior as needed, enhancing both security and productivity.
To create a Time Fence job and deploy it to the enrolled device(s) remotely, follow these steps:
Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Jobs > New Job > Windows > Time Fence.
In the Time Fence prompt, select Enable Time Fencing.
Set the Option Time as
- Console time - Select this option to create fence based on the SureMDM Console's time.
- Device time - Select this option to create a fence based on the user's device time.
::not Click Add Fence to add multiple fences. :::
Enter the Start Time, End Time and select the Days.
Select Fence Entered tab, click Add to select the job(s) that will be activated on the device when it enters the periodical fence .
On the Select Jobs to Add screen, select the multiple jobs from the list using Ctrl key.
Select the user from the following options, who will receive an alert when the device enters the periodical fence:
Device - Device user
MDM - SureMDM admin
Email - Recipient of the configured email address.
Click Save.
Select Fence Exited tab and repeat the steps 5 to 7 to configure the settings when the device exits the fenced area..
The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section.
- Go back to the Home tab and select the Windows device(s) or group(s).
11 Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.
Select the job under All Jobs/Profiles.
Click Apply in the Apply/Profile To Device prompt.
