Configure Energy Saver Profile

The Energy Saver payload allows IT administrators to configure power management settings on macOS devices enrolled via Device Enrollment. These settings help manage energy consumption for desktops and laptops based on their power source and schedule.

Note: This profile is available only for Device Enrollment.

Steps to Configure Energy Saver Profile

  1. On the SureMDM Web Console, navigate to:
    Profiles > macOS > Add > Device Enrollment > Energy Saver > Configure

  2. Enter a Profile Name.

  3. In the Configure Energy Saver screen, configure the required options under the available accordions.


Desktop Power Settings

SettingDescription
Configure SettingsIf checked, the desktop power settings can be configured. If unchecked, the end-user can configure the power settings on device.
System Sleep TimerSpecify the duration of inactivity before the desktop enters sleep mode.
Display Sleep TimerSelect the duration of inactivity before the display enters sleep mode.
Disk Sleep TimerSelect the duration of inactivity before the hard disk enters sleep mode.
Wake on LANSpecify the wake on LAN action.

Laptop on Power

SettingDescription
Configure SettingsIf checked, the laptop power settings can be configured. If unchecked, the end-user can configure the power settings on device.
System Sleep TimerSpecify the duration of inactive time before the laptop enters sleep mode.
Display Sleep TimerSelect the duration of inactive time before the display enters sleep mode.
Disk Sleep TimerSelect the duration of inactivity time before the hard disk enters sleep mode.
Wake on LANSpecify the wake on LAN action.

Laptop on Battery

SettingDescription
Configure SettingsIf checked, the laptop battery settings can be configured. If unchecked, the end-user can configure the power settings on device.
System Sleep TimerSpecify the duration of inactive time before the laptop enters sleep mode.
Display Sleep TimerSelect the duration of inactive time before the display enters sleep mode.
Disk Sleep TimerSelect the duration of inactivity time before the hard disk enters sleep mode.
Wake on LANSpecify the wake on LAN action.

Schedule

Power-On Actions

SettingDescription
Enable Power-On ActionIf unchecked, the Power-On configurations will be disabled.
Action TypeSpecify the action type.
Execution DaysSelect the days on which the scheduled power-on setting will be applied.
Execution TimeSpecify the time when the device should be powered on automatically for the specified day(s).

Power-Off Actions

SettingDescription
Enable Power-Off ActionIf unchecked, the Power-Off configurations will be disabled.
Action TypeSpecify the action type.
Execution DaysSelect the days on which the device should be powered off automatically.
Execution TimeSelect the days on which the scheduled power-off setting will be applied.

General Settings

SettingDescription
Disable SleepIf checked, the Sleep option will be disabled, preventing the device from entering sleep mode.

  1. Click Save.
    The newly created profile will be listed in the Profiles section.

  2. Go back to the Home tab and select the macOS device(s) or group(s).

  3. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.

  4. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the created profile and click Apply.
