Configure Passcode Settings Profile
The Passcode Settings for macOS devices is a critical security feature that empowers administrators to enforce specific passcode-related rules and requirements on devices enrolled in an organization's management system. This ensures that devices are protected with strong and consistent passcodes, enhancing data security and minimizing the risk of unauthorized access.
To enforce the passcode policy on the enrolled device(s), follow these steps:
1. Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Profiles > iOS > Add > Passcode Settings > Configure.
2. Enter a Profile Name.
3. Configure the Passcode Policy settings and click Save.
Settings | Description |

Require Passcode | Enabling this setting mandates that users must set a passcode to access the device. |
Allow Simple Value | Allows to use of repeating, ascending and descending character sequences. |
Require Alphanumeric Value | Ensures the passcode contains one letter and one number. |
Minimum Password Length | Select a value (in number) that specifies the smallest number of characters allowed for a passcode. |
Minimum Number of Complex Characters | Select a value (in number) that specifies the smallest number of non-alphanumeric characters allowed for a passcode. |
Maximum Passcode Age (1-730 Days, or None) | Select a value (in days). After the specified days, the passcode must be changed. |
Maximum Auto-Lock | Period of inactivity before the device's screen locks automatically. |
Passcode History (1-50 Passcodes or None) | Select a value (in numbers) for the number of unique passcodes before reuse. |
Maximum Grace Period for Lock Period | Longest device grace period available to the user. |
Maximum Number Of Failed Attempts | The number of attempts allowed before all the data on the device will be erased. The number of attempts allowed before all the date on the device will be erased. |
The newly created profile will be listed in the Profiles section.
4. Go back to the Home tab and select the macOS device(s) or group(s).
5. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.
6. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the created profile and click Apply.
