Setup Wi-Fi Configuration Profile
The Wi-Fi Configuration Profile allows administrators to finely configure Wi-Fi settings on enrolled devices. This profile allows administrators to finely calibrate the connectivity experience, enhance security measures, and optimize network functionality on the enrolled devices.
To configure Wi-Fi settings remotely on the enrolled devices, follow these steps:
Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Profiles > iOS/iPadOS > Add > Wi-Fi Configuration > Configure.
Enter a Profile Name and click Add.
Configure the following WiFi settings and click Save.
SSID - Enter the SSID name of the desired network.
Wi-Fi Type - Select the Wi-Fi Type, i.e., Personal or Enterprise.
Security Type - Select the following security type for the network:
- None
- WEP
- WPA/WPA2 Personal
- WPA2 Personal (iOS 8 or later except Apple TV)
- Any (Personal)
- EAP/TLS
- WPA3 Personal (iOS 13 or later)
Proxy Setup - Select the proxy type (None/Manual/Automatic).
Auto Join - Select this option to automatically connect to the network during device startup.
Hidden Network- Select this option to connect to a network that is not open or broadcasting.
Disable MAC Address Randomization - Select this option to generate alternate MAC address for the device connected to Wi-Fi network.
The device must run iOS v14.0 or later for this setting to work.
The newly created profile will be listed in the Profiles section.
Go back to the Home tab and select the iOS/iPadOS device(s) or group(s).
Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.
Select the profile under All Jobs/Profiles.
Click Apply in the Apply/Profile To Device prompt.
