Configure Contacts Settings

The Contacts Settings payload enables administrators to configure account settings for connecting to a CardDAV-compliant contact server.

This is applicable for both Device and User Enrollments.

To create a profile to configure contacts on the enrolled device(s), follow these steps:

  1. On the SureMDM Web Console, navigate to: Profiles > iOS/iPadOS > Add > Contacts Settings > Configure

  2. Enter a Profile Name.

  3. In the Contacts section, configure the following options:

    Account HostnameEnter the IP address or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the CardDAV server.
    Account DescriptionEnter the display name for the account.
    Port NumberEnter the port number of the CardDAV server.
    Account UsernameEnter the username for the CardDAV account.
    Principal URLEnter the Principal URL for the CardDAV account.
    Account PasswordEnter the password for the CardDAV account.
    (If left empty, users must enter their password after the payload is installed on the device.)
    VPN IDEnter the VPN ID for the CardDAV account.
    Use SSLWhen enabled, if the server’s SSL certificate isn’t issued by a trusted certificate authority known to the devices, use the Certificates payload to add any root or intermediate certificates required to validate the server’s SSL certificate.
  4. Click Save.

    • The newly created profile will be listed in the Profiles section.
  5. Go back to the Home tab and select the iOS/iPad device(s) or group(s).

  6. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.

  7. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the created profile and click Apply.
