Configure Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) Profile
When an email account is set up using Exchange Active Sync, users of the device gain the ability to conveniently schedule synchronization of their Emails, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, and Notes. This remote synchronization feature operates on enrolled devices, ensuring that users stay seamlessly connected and up-to-date with their essential information.
Applicable for both Device and User Enrollment types.
To configure Exchange ActiveSync remotely on an enrolled device, follow these steps:
Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Profiles > iOS/iPadOS > Add > Exchange ActiveSync > Configure.
Enter a Profile Name and click Add.
Configure the following Exchange ActiveSync settings and click Add.
Settings | Description |

Account Name | Enter the Account Name. |
Exchange ActiveSync Host | Enter the ActiveSync server. |
Use SSL | Allow sending all communications through Secure Socket Layer. |
User | Enter the user name. |
Email Address | Enter the address of the email account. |
Password | Enter the password for the email account. |
Days To Sync | Choose the period of interval to sync. |
Authentication | Add a SCEP certificate to authenticate the end-user device. See Configure Certificate Profile (iOS). |
Allow Messages To Be Moved | Allow or deny moving the message from this account to another. |
Allow Recent Addresses To Be Synced | Allow or deny syncing this account in recent address syncing. |
Use Only In Mail | Allow or deny sending outgoing mail from the account using Mail app. |
Allow Mail Drop | Allow or deny the account to use Mail Drop. |
Allow Mail | Allow or deny mail service for the account. Note: This feature is supported on the devices running iOS 13 onwards. |
Allow Mail By User | Allow or deny user from changing the state of the Mail service for the account in Settings. Note: This feature is supported on the devices running iOS 13 onwards. |
Allow Reminders | Allow or deny reminder service for the account. Note: This feature is supported on the devices running iOS 13 onwards. |
Allow Reminders By User | Allow or deny user from changing the state of the reminder service for the account in Settings. Note: This feature is supported on the devices running iOS 13 onwards. |
Allow Notes | Allow or deny Notes service for the account. Note: This feature is supported on the devices running iOS 13 onwards. |
Allow Notes By User | Allow or deny user from changing the state of the Notes service for the account in Settings. Note: This feature is supported on the devices running iOS 13 onwards. |
Allow Contacts | Allow or deny Contacts service for the account. Note: This feature is supported on the devices running iOS 13 onwards. |
Allow Contacts By User | Allow or deny user from changing the state of the Contacts service for the account in Settings. Note: This feature is supported on the devices running iOS 13 onwards. |
Allow Calendars | Allow or deny Calendar service for the account. Note: This feature is supported on the devices running iOS 13 onwards. |
Allow Calendars By User | Allow or deny user from changing the state of the Calendar service for the account in Settings. Note: This feature is supported on the devices running iOS 13 onwards. |
Enable Per Account VPN | Enable VPN connection for the exchange activesync account. Note: The device must have the following criteria for the setting to work: 1. iOS 14 or later. 2. VPN connection to be configured with OpenVPN connection type. |
Enable Oauth | Select this option to enable two-factor authentication on the devices. |
The added configuration will reflect in the table section.
Click Save.
The newly created profile will be listed in the Profiles section.
Go back to the Home tab and select the iOS/iPadOS device(s) or group(s).
Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.
Select the profile under All Jobs/Profiles.
Click Apply in the Apply/Profile To Device prompt.
