Configure Application Policy Profile

The Application Policy profile allows administrators to remotely install and set up applications on the enrolled devices. This functionality simplifies the deployment process, enabling administrators to efficiently manage app distribution and configuration across a fleet of devices. 

To install and configure an application remotely on the enrolled device(s), follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Profiles > iOS/iPadOS > Add > Application Policy > Configure.

  2. Enter a Profile Name.

  3. In the Add App prompt, choose the App Name from the drop-down menu.

    For the applications to be listed in the App Name drop-down menu, the apps have to be added to the iOS app store. To add apps to iOS app store, see App Store for iOS.   

  4. Select the following:

  • Auto Install: If enabled, the app installs automatically. Otherwise, the user must manually install it from the SureMDM App Store. Silent installation is only supported on supervised devices.

  • Enable 5G Network Slicing: When enabled, this setting allows individual managed apps to be assigned to a network slice, providing specific network capabilities to optimize the app experience. This feature is not supported when using a VPN and is available on iOS 17 and later.

  • Install using VPP: Enable this option to install the app as a VPP app using an appropriate VPP license. If a license is unavailable, the app installation will fail.

Install using VPP option will be shown only for apps that are distributed through VPP

  1. Clear Allow Removable to restrict the user from uninstalling the application.

The device must run iOS v14.0 or later for this setting to work.

  1. Click Add.

    The application will be listed in the Application Policy section. 

  2. Select the application from the Application Policy section, select the app and click Config to configure the application.

  3. In the Application Configuration prompt, click Add and enter the below details:

  • Key 
  • Type
  • Value

  1. Click Add > Save.

    The newly created profile will be listed in the Profiles section.

  2. Go back to the Home tab and select the iOS/iPadOS device(s) or group(s).

  3. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.

  4. Select the profile under All Jobs/Profiles.

  5. Click Apply in the Apply/Profile To Device prompt.
