Application Policy Profile

The Application Policy profile allows administrators to remotely install and set up applications on the enrolled devices. This functionality simplifies the deployment process, enabling administrators to efficiently manage app distribution and configuration across a fleet of devices.

To create a profile to install an application on the enrolled device(s), follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the SureMDM Web Console > Profiles > Windows > Add > Application Policy > Configure.
  2. Enter a Profile Name and click Add.
  3. On the Add App prompt, select the following options:
    • App Category:
      • All – Lists all apps available in SureMDM AppStore.
      • EXE – Lists all .exe apps available in SureMDM AppStore.
      • MSI – Lists all .msi apps available in SureMDM AppStore.
      • Web Apps – Lists all Web Apps available in SureMDM AppStore.
      • Microsoft Store for Business – Lists all Microsoft Store for Business apps synced and available in SureMDM AppStore.
      • Third Party Apps – Lists all apps added via Third Party App Catalog in SureMDM AppStore.
      • Apps added via URL – Lists all apps added via a URL in SureMDM AppStore.
  4. Select the App Name from the drop-down menu.
  5. Depending on the type of app selected, the following options appear:
    • App Version – Displays version of the app.
    • Auto Install – When enabled, the application will be automatically installed without user intervention based upon the specified Execute Path.
    • Auto Update – When enabled, applications will be automatically updated to the latest version when available in the repository. Performs updates silently without user notification.
    • Include in SureMDM App Store – Check this option to include this application in SureMDM App Store.
    • Featured App – When checked, this application will be listed in the Featured Apps section on SureMDM App Store client.
    • Download Directory – The system path where the file will be downloaded and saved for execution only. Choose the custom path option to customize the download path.
    • Install Arguments (Optional) – Modify silent or non-silent installation behavior using install switches or command-line options.
  6. Click Add > Save.

The newly created profile will be listed in the Profiles section.

  1. Go back to the Home tab and select the Windows device(s) or group(s).
  2. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.
  3. Select the profile under All Jobs/Profiles.
  4. Click Apply in the Apply/Profile To Device prompt.
