Install Application job

The Install Application job allows administrators to remotely install applications on enrolled devices. By using the Install Application job, administrators can efficiently distribute applications without the need for physical interaction with each device.

Following options are available in the install application section:

  • Add - This option allows you to add the application file/url.
  • Delete - This option allows you to delete the job added in this section.
  • Modify - This option allows you to modify the existing job.
  • Configure - This option allows you to set up application settings in advance by entering specific details such as the setting name (Key), the type of value it accepts (Type), and the actual setting (Value). These configurations will be applied automatically when the app is installed on the device through MDM.

To create an Install Application job and deploy it to the enrolled device(s) or group(s) remotely, follow these steps:

  1. On the SureMDM Web Console, navigate to Jobs > New Job > iOS/iPadOS > Install Application.

  2. On the Configure Job screen, enter a Job Name and click Add.

  3. In the Install Job popup, add the required application and click OK.

Auto InstallIf enabled, app installs automatically else user need to manually install from SureMDM AppStore. Silent Installation is supported only on Supervised Devices.
Enable 5G Network SlicingEnabling this setting allows individual managed apps to be assigned to a network slice which may provide specific network capabilities and characteristics to optimise the app experience. Unsupported when using VPN. Available in iOS 17 and later.
Install Using VPPEnable this option to install app as VPP app with appropriate VPP license. In case of license unavailability, the app installation will fail.
Allow RemovableIf disabled, users will be unable to uninstall the app. Available in iOS 14 and later.

The added apps will get reflected in the table section.

  1. After adding desired applications, click Save.

  2. Go back to the Home tab and select the iOS/iPadOS device(s) or group(s).

  3. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.

  4. Select the job and click Apply.
