Data Usage Policy Job

SureMDM enables administrators to manage remote control over data usage thresholds for individual enrolled devices or groups. This functionality empowers admins to effectively manage and monitor data consumption.

note

Once this job is pushed to the enrolled device, automatic notifications will be sent when the device reaches the allowed threshold limit. This will work only when SureMDM Alert Type is enabled.

Follow the below steps to create the Data Usage Policy Job:

1. On the SureMDM Web Console, navigate to Jobs > New Job > iOS/iPadOS > Data Usage Policy.

2. Configure the following Data Usage Policy settings and click OK.

   • Job Name - Enter a name for the Job.
   • Data Usage Policy - Enable this option to configure data usage policy.
   • Configure Billing Cycle - Select the billing cycle (Monthly Weekly/Daily/Custom).
   • Configure Mobile Data Limits - Enter the value to set the threshold for the data usage for Limit 1 and Limit 2.

Billing Start Date / Day will be auto-populated based on the option selected in the Configure Billing Cycle.

Send MDM Alert, Apply Profile, Send Email Alert, and Block Data options are enabled once the value for the threshold is entered.

• Action - Select the appropriate action when the data usage exceeds the set threshold:
• Send MDM Alert - Notifies the SureMDM admin
• Send Email Alert - Alerts will be sent to the configured email address. 
• Apply Profile - Apply Jobs/Profiles on the devices

Only one Profile can be added.

• Block Data - Will block the data usage

The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section. 

3. Go back to the Home tab and select the iOS/iPadOS device(s) or group(s).

4. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.

5. Select the job under All Jobs/Profiles.

6. Click Apply in the Apply/Profile To Device prompt.
