Bixolon Printer Enrollment
42Gears has enabled seamless integration of Bixolon printers with the SureMDM console to simplify device management and improve operational efficiency. Through this integration, administrators can remotely enroll, configure, and monitor Bixolon printers from a single centralized platform. It provides enhanced visibility and control, helping reduce manual effort and maintain consistent printer performance across deployments. By managing Bixolon printers via SureMDM, organizations can streamline operations, reduce maintenance overhead, and ensure smooth and reliable printing processes.
Enroll Bixolon Printer to SureMDM
To enroll the Bixolon Printers in SureMDM Console, follow these steps:
Prerequisites
- Enable Things Gateway in the SureMDM Console.
- Configure No Authentication in the SureMDM Console.
- The host machine and Bixolon printer should be connected to the same network.
Steps:
Obtain the Printer’s IP address from the Bixolon printer display.
Run this IP address in the browser to open the Bixolon tool and Log in using the credentials
noteThe default username “admin” and the password should be set by the user.
Click on the Configure tab in the Menu bar and Navigate to the Protocol Configuration Settings and enable MQTT.
Navigate to the MQTT Configuration settings to set up the MQTT by entering the following details:
a. MQTT Broker Address - It is the host address or URL of the MQTT broker to connect to.
The values vary based on the region as follows:
If your SureMDM URL is dns.suremdm.io (US), then use the server mqttbrokerusdns.suremdm.io
If your SureMDM URL is dns.eu.suremdm.io (EU), then use the server mqttbrokereu.eu.suremdm.io
If your SureMDM URL is dns.in.suremdm.io (IN), then use the server mqttbrokerin.in.suremdm.io
If your SureMDM URL is dns.eu2.suremdm.io (EU2), then use the server mqttbrokereu.eu2.suremdm.io
If your SureMDM URL is dns.me.suremdm.io (ME), then use the server mqttbrokerme.me.suremdm.io
If your SureMDM URL is suremdm.42gears.com (US Master), then use the server mqttbrokerusmaster.42gears.com
b. MQTT Port - It is the network port used to establish communication between the device and the MQTT broker.
The values are the same for all the regions, i.e.,8883
c. MQTT Authentication - It is the process of verifying the identity of a client before allowing it to connect to an MQTT broker.
Select Enable from the dropdown.
d. CA Certificate - It is a digital certificate used to verify whether a server or client certificate can be trusted.
Enable the CA certificate checkbox and upload the certificate by choosing the file from the system.
e. MQTT User name - Username for authenticating with the MQTT broker.
- The value here is the SureMDM account ID where the device should be enrolled.
noteNavigate to Settings on the top right corner of the SureMDM console to get the Account ID.
f. MQTT User Password - Password for MQTT broker authentication.
- Value here is the MQTT Gateway password.
noteThe Gateway Password can be copied from the Enable Things Gateway section.
g. MQTT Tenant ID - Identifier used to associate the device with a specific tenant/environment.
- Value here is the SureMDM account ID.
noteNavigate to Settings on the top right corner of the SureMDM console to get the Account ID.
h. MQTT QoS - Defines the message delivery guarantee level.
noteEnter value as 2.
Checkbox should be enabled for MQTT User name, MQTT Password and MQTT Tenant ID to enter the values.
- Click on the Configure button.
- If valid values are entered, the Bixolon printers should get successfully enrolled to the SureMDM Console.
