User Account Management
The User Account Management job helps admins to add user accounts on macOS devices remotely. Creating multiple user accounts on a device ensures each user has their own login experience. Users can then customize their device settings without affecting other users.
To create a user account, follow these steps:
1. Login to the SureMDM Console.
2. Navigate to Jobs > New Job > macOS > User Account Management.
3. Configure the following settings and click Ok:
Settings | Description |

Job Name | Enter the required job name. |
Action Type | Select the action type for managing user accounts: i.Create User ii. Delete user iii. Modify Permissions iv. Change Account Password |
Following are the Action Type options:
i. Create Users: Use this option to create users:
Options | Description |

Account Type | a. Administrator - Provide the user with admin privileges. b.Standard - Users can only modify their settings. |
User Name | Enter the user name. |
Full Name | Enter the User’s Full name. |
Password | Enter the password of the account. |
Confirm Password | Confirm the entered Password. |
Password Hint | Enter the password hint to help the user remember the account password. |
Create User Account is supported on macOS 10.15 or later, running SureMDM agent version 2.8.2 above.
If Service Account is available on the target device, then the user profile will be created with Secure Token. Else, it will be created without Secure Token.
ii. Delete Users: Delete selected users:

User Name | Enter the user name. |
Ensure to enter the correct username. Deletion of the user account is ignored if the user does not exist.
iii. Modify Permissions: Modify the permissions of an existing user from Admin to Standard and vice versa:

Change User Type From | Select user Type From: Select one of the following options : a. Administrator to Standard - Changes the user privileges from Admin to Standard. Provide the user with admin privileges. b. Standard to Administrator- Changes the user privileges from Standard to Admin. Provide the user with admin privileges. |
Ensure to enter the correct username. User access level will be changed as per the selection. This feature is supported on macOS devices running SureMDM Agent version >= 5.1.0
iv. Change Account Password: Use this option to change the password for the specified user account:

Change Password using | Select an option using which the password will be changed : a. Admin Account's Credentials - Use this option to reset the user's password by providing the administrator username and password. b. User Account's Credentials - Use this option to reset the user account password by entering the current password and the new password. c. Service Account - Use this option to reset the user’s password using SureMDM Service Account. |
Admin Username | Enter the username of the Admin account. Applicable only if Admin Account's Credentials selected. |
Admin Password | Enter the password of the Admin account. Applicable only if Admin Account's Credentials selected. |
Username | Enter the username of the account. |
Current Password | Enter the current password of the account. Applicable only if User Account's Credentials is selected. |
New Password | Enter the new password. |
Confirm Password | Enter the new password again to verify. |
Password Hint | Enter a password hint to remember the account password. |
- The job will execute successfully only if the specified username and current password match on the target device(s).
- Change Account Password is supported on macOS 10.15 or later with SureMDM Agent version 5.8.0 and above.
- Password change using SureMDM Service Account is supported on SureMDM Agent version 6.6.0 and above.
4. Once done, click on Save to save the changes. The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section.
