Wi-Fi/Hotspot Settings (Android)

Admins can remotely configure Wi-Fi/Hotspot settings on the enrolled device(s).

To create a Wi-Fi/Hotspot Settings job and deploy it to the enrolled device(s) or group(s) remotely, follow these steps:

1. On the SureMDM Web Console, navigate to Jobs > New Job > Android > Wi-Fi/Hotspot Settings > WiFi Configuration Settings > Add.   

2. Configure Wi-Fi/Hotspot settings and click OK.

SettingsDescription
SSIDEnter the SSID name.
PasswordEnter the password to connect to the network.
Security TypeSelect the security type (Open / WEP / WPA/WPA2 PSK / 802.1 x EAP / WPA/WPA2/WPA3 - Enterprise / WPA3 - Personal).
Note :1. The security types 802.1x EAP and WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise are only compatible with SureMDM Agent version >= v27.36.00.
2. The security type WPA3-Personal is supported only on Device Owner (DO) and Platform Signed devices running Android 12 or above, and requires SureMDM Agent version 27.49.05 or higher.
EAP MethodSpecifies the Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) method, including options like PEAP, TLS, TTLS, PWD, SIM, or AKA.
Phase 2 AuthenticationConfigures additional authentication methods such as None, PAP, MSCHAP, MSCHAPv2, or GTC for enhanced security.
CA CertificateSpecifies the Certificate Authority (CA) certificate to validate the network's identity.
User CertificateSelects the user-specific certificate for authenticating with the Wi-Fi network.
IdentityDefines the user’s identity (username) for network authentication.
Anonymous IdentityConfigures an anonymous username to protect the user’s real identity during EAP authentication.
Advanced Options - Use ProxyAllows configuration of proxy settings for the network.
Advanced Options - IP SettingsEnables configuration of IP settings, either dynamically via DHCP or manually as static.
Auto ConnectSelect this option to automatically connect to the network.
Create HotspotSelect this option to connect the device to the Hotspot.
Hidden NetworkSelect this option to connect to a network that is not open or broadcasting.
Disable MAC Address RandomizationSelect this option to prevent the device from using MAC address randomization.

3. Click OK.

     The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section. 

4. Go back to the Home tab and select Android device(s) or group(s).

5. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.

6. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the Job and click Apply.
