Application Settings (Android)
Application Settings job helps the user manage the applications remotely based on selecting a Job Type from the following:
| Job Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Lock Apps | Lock the application with a password. |
| Run at startup | Run the application on device booting. Note: This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device (Device Owner) and Device Admin enrolled devices. |
| Uninstall applications | Remove the application from the device. Note : This feature is supported on Samsung KNOX, Platform Signed, Fully Managed Device (Device Owner) and Work Profile (Profile Owner) enrolled devices. |
| Clear data | Delete the data of an application. Note : This feature is supported on Samsung KNOX, Platform Signed, Fully Managed Device (Device Owner) and Work Profile (Profile Owner) enrolled devices. |
| Show Apps | Displays the applications on the device. Note : This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device (Device Owner) and Work Profile (Profile Owner) enrolled devices. |
| Hide Apps | Hide the applications on the device. Note : This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device (Device Owner) and Work Profile (Profile Owner) enrolled devices. |
| Kill/Stop Apps | Kill/Stop the applications on the device. Note :This feature is supported on Samsung KNOX, Platform Signed and OEM devices from SureMDM Agent V >= 27.40.01. |
| Install Existing Package | Only the apps that are installed in another User of the device and the apps that are kept in the device through the 'Keep Uninstalled Packages' option will be installed. Note : This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device (Device Owner) and Fully Managed Device with a Work Profile (WPCO) and on SureMDM Agent version >= 27.38.00. |
| Disable User Control | Restrict users from clearing App Data and from Force Stopping applications. Note : This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device (Device Owner) and Work Profile (Profile Owner) and on SureMDM Agent version >= 27.38.00. |
| Keep Uninstalled Packages | Specify the apks of the apps that have to be kept on the device even if they are not installed. Note : This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device (Device Owner) and on SureMDM Agent version >= 27.38.00. |
| Disable Metered Data | Disable apps from using cellular data connections Note : This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device (Device Owner) and Work Profile (Profile Owner) and on SureMDM Agent version >= 27.38.00. |
To create an Application Settings job and deploy it to the enrolled device(s) or group(s) remotely, follow these steps:
1. On the SureMDM Web Console, navigate to Jobs > New Job > Android > Application Settings.
2. In the Application Settings prompt, enter the following details and click Save.
a. Enter a Job Name.
b. Select the Application Name(s) from the list.
c. Click Add to move Application Names in the right-side box.
d. Click Remove to remove the Application Names from the right-side box.
e. Select the desired Job Type.
f. Click Advanced to set the Password in the Advanced Settings prompt.
The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section.
3. Go back to the Home tab and select Android device(s) or group(s).
4. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.
5. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the job and click Apply.
