Inbox: Two-Way Messaging & Alerts Hub in SureMDM
The Inbox section in the SureMDM Web Console acts as a centralized hub for admin-user communication, compliance notifications, and critical system alerts. It allows administrators to seamlessly manage messages, monitor device compliance, and address key alerts such as battery thresholds, connectivity issues, data usage, SIM changes, and security risks, ensuring efficient and secure device management.
Messaging & Alert Management
The Inbox provides administrators with powerful tools to view, manage, and respond to real-time messages and alerts.
Available Inbox Actions:
View All Messages – Access all incoming messages, compliance notifications, and system alerts in one place.
Select All – Bulk-select messages for efficient management.
Reply – Respond directly to user messages.
Mark as Read/Unread – Keep track of important messages by marking them accordingly.
Delete Messages – Remove unnecessary messages for better organization.
Cleanup Inbox – Bulk delete messages older than a selected time interval.
Search - Search for specific messages.
Types of Messages/Alerts Received in Inbox:
Two-Way Messaging – Enable seamless communication between administrators and device users.
Battery Threshold Alerts – Get notified when a device's battery level falls below the defined threshold set in the Notification Policy.
Device Connectivity Alerts – Get notified when a device is not connected to the internet for the defined interval in the Notification Policy.
Data Usage Alerts – Get notified when a device exceeds defined data consumption limits in the Notification Policy.
Online/Offline Alerts – Receive notifications when a device comes online.
SIM Change Alerts – Get notified when a SIM card is replaced in a device.
Root Detection Alerts – Get notified when a device is rooted, posing potential security risks.
Device Non-Compliance Alerts – Get notified when a device violates compliance policies defined in the compliance job.
Fence Entry/Exit Alerts – Get notified when a device enters or exits a defined Network, Time, or Geo fence.
Two-Way Messaging for Admin-User Communication
SureMDM enables interactive communication between administrators and users. The messaging system allows real-time broadcasting of critical instructions, alerts, and compliance updates directly from the web console. Users can also reply from their devices, fostering an efficient communication loop.
Supported Message Formats:
- Plain Text Messaging – Send simpler messages without formatting.
- Rich Text Messaging – Use formatting options like bold, italics, underline, bullet points, numbering, headers, and text color to enhance readability.
Send Message to a Specific Device
Administrators can send targeted messages to individual devices via the SureMDM Web Console. This feature is useful for personalized alerts, instructions, or urgent notifications.
To send a message to a specific device from the SureMDM Web Console, follow these steps:
Open the SureMDM Web Console.
Select a device from the device grid and click Message under Dynamic Jobs.
Enter the Subject and choose between Plain Text or Rich Text format.
Compose your message in the text box.
Customize the message with additional options:
Get Read Notification – Receive a confirmation when the message is read.
Force Read Message – Automatically opens the message in a window, ensuring the user reads it before proceeding.
- i. Enable Buzz – Pop up the message with a sound alert (set duration in seconds).
- ii. Close Message Popup – Automatically close the message after a specified time.
- Click Send.
Messaging is not available for Linux, Android VR, and macOS devices.
Send Message to Multiple Devices
SureMDM allows administrators to send bulk messages to multiple devices simultaneously for announcements, alerts, or instructions.
To send a message to multiple devices from the SureMDM Web Console, follow these steps:
Navigate to Console > Jobs > New Job > Select desired OS.
Select Text Message and follow the same steps as for a single device.
Save the Job.
Go to Home, select multiple devices, and click Apply.
User Messaging: Send Message to Admin from Device
SureMDM ensures two-way communication by allowing users to send messages directly to administrators. This feature enables users to report issues, request support, or communicate important updates efficiently. Messages sent from a device are instantly accessible to admins via the Web Console, ensuring timely responses and efficient communication.
To send a message to the admin from the device, follow these steps:
Open the SureMDM Agent on the device.
Tap Mailbox > Compose.
Enter the Subject and Message.
Tap Send – The message will appear in the Inbox section of the SureMDM Web Console.
Users can also respond to specific messages sent by the administrator by using the Reply option on the message sent by the administrator.
Unnecessary messages can be deleted by selecting one or more messages in the Inbox for better organization.
