Password policy (Android)
Admins can remotely configure password policies on the enrolled devices.
To create a Security Policy job for passwords and deploy it to the enrolled device(s) remotely, follow these steps:
1. On the SureMDM Web Console, navigate to Jobs > New Job > Android > Security Policy > Password Policy.
2. Select the following settings and click Save.
Settings | Description |
---|---|
Job Name | Enter a name for the Job. |
Password Policy | Select one of the following options: - None: No configuration in the Password Policy tab; used when only System Settings need to be applied. - Enforce: Applies the defined password policy settings. - Disable: Disables previously enforced password policy. |
Minimum Password Length | Define the minimum number of characters required for the device password. |
Password Strength | Choose the desired strength for the password: - No Restriction - At least Numeric - At least Alphabetic - Alphanumeric |
Time Lapse Before Device Auto-Locks | Set the duration of inactivity after which the device will automatically lock. |
Maximum Failed Password Attempts Before Device Wipes | Specify the number of incorrect password attempts allowed before the device data is wiped. |
The newly created job will get listed in the Jobs List section.
3. Go back to the Home tab and select the Android device(s) or group(s).
4. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt .
5. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the job and click Apply.
