Run Script (Android)

The Run Script Job allows admins to remotely run customized scripts on the enrolled devices. This functionality provides a flexible and efficient way to automate tasks, apply configurations, troubleshoot issues, or deploy specific actions across a fleet of devices

To create a job to run customized scripts and deploy it to the enrolled device(s) or group(s) remotely, follow these steps:

  1. On the SureMDM Web Console, navigate to Jobs > New Job > Android > Run Script.    

  2. In the Run Script prompt, enter a Job name and script,  and click Save.

                                        or

      To add a pre-defined script in the Script box, follow these steps:

a. Select the script type from the following:

  • Generic - Run scripts for all devices. The run scripts mentioned in this section apply to all Android devices, including those that support Samsung Knox, are platform-signed Enterprise Agents (EA), or are enrolled as Device Owner.
  • Knox - Run scripts only for Samsung Knox devices.
  • EA - Run scripts only for platform signed devices. Please ensure that the Enterprise Agent is installed for the scripts to function correctly.
  • Zebra - Run scripts only for Zebra devices. Please ensure the OEM Agent is installed for the scripts to function correctly.

b. In the Run Script prompt, insert the script in the blank space (if required) and click Validate.

                  A confirmation of successful validation will be displayed.

c. Click Insert.

            The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section.

  1. Go back to the Home tab and select the Android device(s) or group(s).

  2. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.

  3. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the Job and click Apply.
