Prequisites

Before enabling Shared Device Mode (SDM) for iOS/iPadOS devices in SureMDM, ensure the following requirements are met.

1. Supported Devices

  • The device must be running iOS or iPadOS.
  • The device must be Supervised.

2. Supported Enrollment Types

Devices must be enrolled in SureMDM using one of the following enrollment methods:

  • Device Enrollment
  • Automated Device Enrollment (ADE)

3. SureMDM Agent Version

Shared Device Mode is supported only on:

  • SureMDM Agent version 4.84 or later

4. Identity Provider Configuration

Since user authentication is required in Shared Device Mode, administrators must configure an Identity Provider (IdP).

Currently supported:

  • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) using SAML Authentication

5. License Requirement

Shared Device Mode is available only for:

  • Premium Tier
  • Enterprise Tier

Tenants using lower license tiers will not be able to configure or deploy this feature.
