Device Actions Job (Windows Server)

The Device Actions job allows administrators to remotely execute essential device management actions such as Reboot, Shut down, Lost Mode, Lock, and Wipe on devices.

To create a Device Action job to Lock, Lost, Reboot, Shutdown or Wipe the device and deploy it to the enrolled device(s) or group(s) remotely, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Jobs > New Job > Windows Server > Device Actions.
2. In the Device Actions prompt, enter a Job Name and select Action Type.
3. Choose appropriate options based on Action Type

• Lock Device — Use this action type to lock the device remotely.

  note

  The password should be configured and enabled to access the device.

• Reboot - Use this action type to reboot devices remotely.

  • Force Reboot - Immediately restart the device without requiring user intervention, potentially interrupting any ongoing processes or unsaved work.
  • Reboot After - Specify the time in seconds after which the device should reboot

• Shut Down - Use this action type to shut down devices remotely.

  • Force Shut Down - Immediately power off the device without requiring user intervention, potentially causing data loss or interruption of ongoing processes.
  • Shut Down After - Specify the time in seconds after which the device should shut down.

The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section.

4. Go back to the Home tab and select the Windows Server device(s) or group(s).
5. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.
6. Select the job under All Jobs/Profiles.
7. Click Apply in the Apply/Profile To Device prompt.
