SureMDM Agent Permissions


The admins can enable/disable the permissions at any time in the SureMDM Agent application. The following permissions are available under the SureMDM Agent Permission Checklist:

  • Query All Apps - SureMDM needs this permission to read the list of apps installed on the device and give the administrator the ability to launch, modify, and even uninstall the apps.
  • Configure Runtime Permissions - SureMDM needs this permission to manage app permissions related to the camera, location, storage, phone, messages, and contacts, as well as to deploy applications and files to this device.
  • Activate Device Admin - SureMDM needs this permission to provide mobile device management features, i.e., the ability to perform certain tasks remotely.
  • Enable Usage Access - SureMDM requires this permission to monitor the data usage, lock the device, and applications.
  • Enable All Files Access - SureMDM requires this permission to read, write, and access all files in shared storage, as well as to assist with transfers to/from the device.

Note: Enable All Files Access will be available only on the devices running Android 11 and above. 

  • Ignore Battery Optimization - SureMDM Agent requires this permission to run in the background in order to ensure that the SureMDM Agent can always reach the MDM server
  • Accessibility Settings - SureMDM Agent requires this permission to allow complete remote control of the device, control gestures, hardware buttons, and navigation.
  • Configure System Permission - SureMDM Agent requires this permission to change system settings, including system brightness, time zone, and font size.
  • Enable Display Over Other Apps - SureMDM Agent requires this permission to remotely launch SureLock to enable kiosk mode and force display messages.
  • Enable Background Location - SureMDM agent requires this permission to access your location all the time so that advanced device management features like Geo Fence, Location Tracking, etc., supported by SureMDM will be enabled.

Note: Enable Background Location will be available only on the devices running Android 11 and above. 

  • Configure Unknown Sources - SureMDM Agent requires this permission to install third party internal/business apps directly from outside the Google Play store.
  • Enable Notification Access - SureMDM Agent requires this permission to hide or show notification of the applications.
  • Disable Remove Permissions and Free Up Space - SureMDM Agent requires this permission to be disabled in order to avoid app hibernation which can cause the jobs and push notifications in the background and revocation of the app permissions.
