Dynamic Jobs for iOS/iPad

Dynamic Jobs, enabling Administrators to create job assignments that adapt to the unique capabilities of each device. By tailoring tasks or actions to specific devices, the organization can maximize efficiency and achieve better results. For iOS/iPadOS devices, the following dynamic jobs are available:

  • Refresh - Refresh the devices in Device Grid. This option will sync the device’s latest information with the SureMDM console.

  • Remote - This option allows you to remotely connect to an enrolled device. 

  • Apps - Displays all system and installed applications on a device. SureMDM collects all the information about the installed applications (app name, username, version, package name, app size, etc.). Admins can remotely uninstall the application(s) of a device. 

    Apps contain the following sections: Downloaded Apps, System Apps, All Apps. These sections display applications based on their category. The following options are available for the applications listed in each section:

    • Advanced - Displays the advanced settings prompt for further configuration.
      • Security Code to Unlock Applications - Enter the security code which is required to unlock restricted or locked applications on the device.
    • Permission - This option displays the list of permissions granted to the application.
    • Uninstall - This option allows you to uninstall the selected application from the device.
    • Clear Data - This option clears all app data and stored information for the selected application.
    • Refresh - This option refreshes the application list.
    • Lock - Enable this option to lock the application, preventing users from accessing it.
    • Run at startup - Enable this option to automatically run the application when the device starts. You can also specify the startup delay in seconds.
  • Reboot Devices - This option allows you to reboot your device.

  • Clear Password - This option allows you to clear your device's password remotely.

  • Lock Device - This option allows you to remotely lock the device.

  • Message - This option allows you to send an instant message to enrolled devices.

  • Manage Profiles - It allows admins to remove installed profiles and custom payloads,(managed and unmanaged) from specific devices.

  • Wipe Device - Erases data from the selected iOS device.

    • Partial Wipe: All managed apps, data and profile will be deleted. Any apps that were installed through SureMDM will be removed.
    • Full Wipe: Complete device will be wiped. All personal files, photos, music, and movies, in addition to managed apps, data, and profiles, will be permanently erased. Unsupported on Apple User Enrollment enrolled devices.
    • Preserve Data Plan [If Automated Device Enrollment / Device Enrollment and Full Wipe is selected]: Ensures that the device's data plan remains intact even after a Full Wipe. (Available from iOS 11 and later.)
    • Disallow Proximity Setup [If Full Wipe is selected]: Prevents the device from initiating proximity-based setup following a Full Wipe. (Available from iOS 11.3 and later.)
    • Return to Service[If Full Wipe is selected]: If enabled, the device will automatically re-enroll after the wipe is completed. (Available from iOS 17 and later. Not Supported for User Enrollment.)
    • Select Profile[If Full Wipe is selected]: Select a profile to ensure the device automatically connects to the Wi-Fi network after a wipe, allowing enrollment to complete without user intervention.
    • Re-enroll to SureMDM after Wipe[If Full Wipe is selected]: Enables automatic re-enrollment into SureMDM after the wipe operation. (Available from iOS 17 and later. Unsupported on Apple User Enrollment.)
  • Data Usage - This option allows you to track data usage information remotely based on the connectivity preference (Mobile Data / Wi-Fi Data) for a specific period of time.

  • Shut Down - This option allows you to shut down your device remotely.

  • OS Updates - This option allows you to update your iOS devices remotely.

  • Lost Mode - A security feature that remotely locks a lost device.

  • Bluetooth: Use this option to enable / disable the bluetooth on devices.

  • Personal Hotspot: Use this option to enable / disable personal hotspot on devices.

  • Roaming: Use this option to enable / disable Voice and Data Roaming on devices.

  • SureAccess Control: This option allows you to Allow/Block SureAccess and view other SureAccess parameters like Last Connection time, Data Received and Sent over SureAccess on the selected device.

The availability of dynamic jobs depends on the Supervised status of iOS/iPadOS devices. For example, on Unsupervised devices, the following dynamic jobs will not be accessible:

  • Shutdown
  • Reboot
  • Data Usage
  • Lost Mode
  • System Scan

To check if the device is supervised or unsupervised, you can view this information under Device Info on the right side of the SureMDM home screen.
