SureAccess Login with Okta
This guide focuses specifically on configuring SureAccess as a secure VPN gateway using Okta for authentication. In this setup, the Okta login screen acts as the "gatekeeper" that users must pass through to establish a secure VPN tunnel to corporate resources.
The integration process consists of two main steps:
Configure Okta for SAML Integration
Configure SureAccess Authentication Type in SureMDM
Configure Okta for SAML Integration
To configure settings on the Okta server, follow these steps:
Log in to your Okta Admin Dashboard.
In the sidebar, navigate to Applications > Applications.
Click Create App Integration
Select SAML 2.0 and click Next.
Enter the App Name as SureAccess.
(Optional) Upload a logo to help your users identify the app.
Click Next and navigate to SAML Settings, enter the following details:
Single sign on URL: https://<Account_URL>/saml?id=<Account_ID>
Entity ID: urn:42gears:suremdm:SAML2ServiceProvider
Admin should enter their SureMDM Server Path and Account ID into the above-mentioned URL.
Click Next.
Select the first option This is an internal app that we have created for App type and click Finish.
After clicking Finish, you will be on the Sign On tab of your new app.
To integrate with SureMDM:
Sign on URL: Copy this
Sign out URL: Copy this
Issuer: Copy this (this is your Okta Entity ID).
Configure SureAccess Authentication Type in SureMDM
Log in to the SureMDM Console.
Go to Settings > Account Settings > Enterprise Integrations > SureAccess > SureAccess Configuration > SureAccess Authentication.
Set SureAccess Authentication Type to SAML Authentication.
Select Okta.
Enter the respective values obtained from the Okta Sign On tab into the corresponding fields:
Service Identifier: Paste the Issuer value copied from Okta.
Sign On Service Url: Paste the Sign on URL value copied from Okta.
Logout Service Url: Paste the Sign out URL value copied from Okta.
Click Apply to save.
