Configure Security Settings


In this section, the superuser can configure security settings such as changing of password and enabling of two-factor authentication.


Change Account Password

Superuser will have the option to change the SureMDM account password.

To change the existing password of SureMDM account, follow these steps:

1.  Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Settings (icon located at the top right of the screen) > Change Password.

2.  In Change Your Account Password prompt, enter the following details and click OK.

Old Password

Enter the existing password.

New Password

Enter the desired password.

Retype New Password

Repeat the entry of the desired password.


Note: Admins will get auto logged out from all open sessions when the password is changed. 


Two-Factor Authentication

This option provides an extra layer of security to the SureMDM account.

To configure two-factor authentication for SureMDM account, follow these steps:

1.  Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Settings (icon located at the top right of the screen) > Security.

2.  On the Security dialog box, select Two-Factor Authentication.

3.  Turn ON Enable Two-Factor Authentication toggle.

4.  Enter the SureMDM account Password and click Verify.

5.  Choose an option from the following for the 2FA Method to receive the OTP: 

    • Google Authenticator

            a. Select the Google Authenticator and scan the QR code displayed on the Google Authenticator app downloaded on the device.

                 A code will be generated.           

            b. Enter the Code and click Submit OTP.

    • Email Address

            a. Select the Email address.

                The registered email id will be auto-populated in the Email address field.

            b. Click Send OTP

                 An OTP will be sent to the registered email address.

            c. Enter the OTP and click Submit.

    • Phone Number

            a. Select the Phone Number

                      The registered phone number will be auto-populated in the Phone Number field.

                  b. Click Send OTP.

                      An OTP will be sent as an SMS to the registered phone number.

                  c. Enter the OTP and click Submit.
