Configure Network Settings Profile (Android Enterprise)

Network Settings allows the administrator to configure policies for network connections on the enrolled devices.

To remotely configure the Network Settings profile on the enrolled device(s), follow these steps:

1. Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Profiles > Android > Add > Primary Profile > Network Settings > Configure.

2. Enter a Profile Name.

3. In the Network Settings screen, enter the following details and click Save.

Proxy Settings
Proxy TypeSelect Manual or Auto proxy type to configure with the VPN.
If selected:
  • Manual - Enter the Proxy Server name where all the devices are connected and Port number of the proxy server.
  • Auto -  Enter the Proxy PAC URL.
    • Note: This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device, Work Profile and Fully Managed Device With A Work Profile mode.
    Proxy Server and PortEnter the hostname or IP address and port number for the proxy server.
    Exclusion ListSet the hostnames to prevent them from routing through the proxy.
    This feature will be available only on devices running SureMDM Agent version 27.19.52 and above. Applicable only for Fully Managed Device.
    VPN Settings
    Set always-on VPNSelect this option to keep VPN always ON.
    Note: This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device, Work Profile and Fully Managed Device With A Work Profile mode.
    Package NameEnter a Package Name.
    Disable network access when VPN is not connectedSelect this option to disable the network connection when a VPN is not connected.
    Revoke When Not CompliantRevoke the configuration if the device is out of compliance.
    Private DNS Settings
    Set Private DNS ModeUse this option to configure automatic or Private DNS on a device 
    Note: The choices Automatic and Private DNS provider hostname are applicable to devices enrolled as Device Owner with SureMDM Agent v26.00.97 on Android OS v9.0 and above.
    The Off option is applicable to devices enrolled as Device Owner with SureMDM Agent v27.35.09 on Android OS v10.0 and above.

         The newly created profile will be listed in the Profiles section.

    4.  Go back to the Home tab and select the device(s).

    5.  Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.

    6.  In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the created profile and click Apply.
