Configure Network Settings Profile (Android Management)

Network Settings allows the administrator to configure policies for network connections on the enrolled devices.

note

This profile is supported for devices enrolled in Fully Managed Device mode (Device Owner).

To remotely configure the Network Settings profile on the enrolled device(s), follow these steps:

1. Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Profiles > Android > Add > Network Settings > Configure.

2. Enter a Profile Name.

3. In the Network Settings screen, enter the following details and click Save.

Proxy Settings
Proxy TypeSelect Manual or Automatic proxy type to configure with the VPN.
If selected:
  • Manual - Enter the Proxy Server name where all the devices are connected and Port number of the proxy server.
  • Automatic -  Enter the Proxy PAC URL.
  • Note: This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device, Work Profile and Fully Managed Device With A Work Profile mode.
    Proxy Server and PortEnter the hostname or IP address and port number for the proxy server.
    Exclusion ListSet the hostnames to prevent them from routing through the proxy.
    This feature will be available only on devices running SureMDM Agent version 27.19.52 and above. Applicable only for Fully Managed Device.
    VPN Settings
    Set always-on VPNSelect this option to keep VPN always ON.
    Note: This feature is supported on Fully Managed Device, Work Profile and Fully Managed Device With A Work Profile mode.
    VPN Package NameEnter a Package Name.
    Disable network access when VPN is not connectedSelect this option to disable the network connection when a VPN is not connected.
    Enhanced Network Slicing
    Enterprise SliceEnables enterprise slicing on 5G network devices to create secure virtual networks on shared infrastructure, optimizing performance, QoS, and resource allocation for a wide range of applications. Supported on Fully Managed and WPCO devices running Android Version 12 and above with SureMDM Agent v27.35.09.
    Select Apps TypeSelect Allowed Apps/Excluded Apps.
    Allowed Apps/Excluded AppsEnter the application package name and click Add (+).
    Allow Fallback to Default ConnectionEnable this option to allow device to use the default network connection if the requested network slice is unavailable.
    Add SliceUse this option to create an enterprise slice.

         The newly created profile will be listed in the Profiles section.

    4. Go back to the Home tab and select the device(s).

    5. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt .

    6. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the created profile and click Apply.
