Impinj RFID Reader Properties

The following are the Impinj RFID Reader properties:

Below properties are displayed for both IoT Interface and LLRP Interface

  • Parent Device Name: Displays gateway name.

  • Agent Version: Displays the agent version of the connector.

  • Thing Online: Displays the connection status. The value will be displayed as Connected or Disconnected.

  • Firmware Version: Displays the firmware version of the device.

  • Antenna Hub Status: It refers to the current operational state of the antenna ports on the antenna hub connected to the reader.

    • It is a toggle button to enable/diable.
    • By default, the reader has 4 antenna ports.
    • When Antenna Hub is enabled, you can scale up to 32 ports using external hubs (8 ports per hub, max 4 hubs).
  • Hostname: It is the network identifier used to connect to the reader over a local network or the internet. It is an editable value.

  • Interface: It refers to the network or communication interface used to connect to, control, or interact with the reader.

    • Values are: LLRP Interface and IoT Device Interface
  • System Time: It refers to the internal clock of the reader, which keeps track of the current date and time.

    • Format: ISO 8601 format
  • Device UpTime: It refers to the amount of time the reader has been continuously powered on and running since its last reboot or power cycle.

    - Format: <number> days, <number> hours, <number> minutes, <number> seconds
  • Allocated power (milliwatts): It refers to the amount of RF (radio frequency) power that is assigned or allocated to a specific antenna port during operation.

  • Temperature (celsius): It refers to the internal operating temperature of the reader's hardware.

The following additional properties are displayed only in case of LLRP Interface:

  • Reader Connected: It indicates whether the RFID reader is currently online and communicating with your system.

    • Values are True or False.
  • Reader Singulating: It refers to the process where the reader isolates and communicates with individual RFID tags in a dense tag population.

    • Values are True or False.
  • GPI Count: It refers to the number of General Purpose Input (GPI) ports available on the reader.

  • GPO Count: It refers to the number of General Purpose Output (GPO) ports available on the reader.

  • FastId Available: It indicates whether the RFID reader and tag support the FastID feature, which allows the tag’s TID (Tag Identifier) to be read more quickly and efficiently during inventory.

    • Values are True or False.
  • Filtering Available: It means that the reader supports tag filtering, allowing you to define criteria to include or exclude certain tags from being read or reported.

    • Values are True or False.
  • GPI Debounce Available: It means the reader supports debounce logic for its General Purpose Input (GPI) ports.

    • Values are True or False.
  • Hopping Region: It refers to the regulatory frequency band and hopping pattern the reader uses to communicate with RFID tags.

    • Values are True or False.
  • Impinj RSSI Reporting Available: It means the reader supports reporting the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) value for each tag read.

    • Values are True or False.
  • Link Monitor Available: It means the reader supports a feature that monitors the connection between the reader and its host system.

    • Values are True or False.
  • Multiword Block Write Available: It means the reader supports the ability to write multiple 16-bit words to an RFID tag’s memory in a single block write operation.

    • Values are True or False.
  • Phase Angle Reporting Available: It means the reader supports reporting the RF phase angle of the signal received from a tag.

    • Values are True or False.
  • Tag Access Available: It means the reader supports reading from and writing to specific memory banks on RFID tags.

    • Values are True or False.
  • Antenna Count: It refers to the number of antenna ports available on the RFID reader for connecting external antennas.
