SureFlow

SureFlow is a no-code workflow automation engine in SureMDM that helps administrators automate repetitive device management and IT operations. With SureFlow, administrators can create workflows using configurable triggers, conditions, and actions without writing code. This reduces manual effort, improves operational efficiency, and enables automated responses to events in the enterprise environment.

Accessing SureFlow

To access SureFlow:

  1. Log in to the SureMDM Console.
  2. Click the three-dot menu.
  3. Select SureFlow Studio.

The SureFlow Studio contains the following sections:

  • Automations - Use Automations to create and manage workflows.
  • Audit - Use Audit to view workflow execution logs and track workflow activity.

Creating a Flow

You can create a workflow from the Automations section. Follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Create a New Flow

  1. Open SureFlow Studio.
  2. Go to the Automations section.
  3. Click Create New and select New Flow.
  4. A new flow will be created successfully.
note

The Create New menu also provides options to create a Table or Folder. These options are used to organize and store workflow-related data.

Step 2: Select a Trigger

A Trigger determines when the workflow starts.

SureFlow provides the following trigger types:

1. Manual Trigger

A Manual Trigger starts the workflow when an administrator explicitly runs it. It can be used when an administrator wants to perform an operation on demand.

2. Scheduled Trigger

A Scheduled Trigger starts the workflow automatically at a configured time. You can configure the workflow to:

  • Run once at a specific date and time
  • Run every X minutes
  • Run hourly
  • Run daily
  • Run weekly
  • Run monthly

3. Event-Based Trigger

An Event-Based Trigger starts the workflow automatically when a configured SureMDM event occurs. This is useful when an action needs to be performed automatically in response to an event.

Step 3: Test the Trigger

After adding and configuring the trigger:

  1. Click the Test Step.
  2. Wait for the trigger to complete successfully.
  3. The output generated by the trigger becomes available to the subsequent steps.

⚠ IMPORTANT
Each step should be tested before proceeding to the next step. Testing a step fetches the required details and makes its output available to subsequent steps.

Step 4: Add Flow Components

Click the "+" icon to add additional components to the workflow. Depending on the requirement, you can add:

  • Router - A Router allows you to define different paths in a workflow based on conditions, such as if and if not scenarios. Use a Router when the workflow needs to take different actions depending on the result of a condition.

  • Code - A Code step allows you to add custom code when the required logic cannot be achieved using the available workflow components.

  • Delay - A Delay step pauses workflow execution for a configured period before continuing to the next step.

After configuring any of these components, click Test Step before proceeding.

Step 5: Add a Condition

Click the "+" icon and select a SureMDM Condition. Conditions determine whether a particular requirement is met before an action is performed.

To configure a condition:

  1. Select the required condition from the list.
  2. Configure the condition parameters.
  3. Click Test Step.
  4. Verify the test result.

The result of the condition can then be used by subsequent workflow steps.

Step 6: Add an Action

Click the "+" icon and select the required SureMDM Action.

Actions define what the workflow should perform when the configured requirements are met. For example, an action can be used to perform an operation such as deploying an application, managing a device, or sending a notification.

Configure the required action parameters and click Test Step to verify the action.

info

The general workflow structure is: Trigger → Condition → Action Additional components such as Router, Code, and Delay can be added wherever required.

Saving and Activating a Workflow

After configuring and testing all required steps:

  1. Validate the workflow.
  2. Save the workflow as a Draft if it is not ready to run.
  3. Publish the workflow when the configuration is complete.
  4. Once published, the workflow becomes Active.
  5. The workflow executes when its configured trigger occurs.

Viewing Workflow Activity

The Audit section in SureFlow Studio provides workflow execution logs.Administrators can use the audit information to review workflow activity and track executions.
