Overview

The Overview section provides a snapshot of critical metrics for effective patch management. It consists of three main components:

Dashboard

A centralized display presenting key patch management data and insights:

1. Patch Status

The Patch Status Bar Chart provides a comprehensive overview of patch deployment across all devices. It visually represents the following:

  • Eligible Patches: Shows the count of patches available for deployment.
  • Installed Patches: Displays the count of patches successfully installed on devices.
  • Pending Patches: Indicates patches that are approved but pending installation.
  • Failed Patches: Shows patches that have failed to install after multiple attempts or have been reported as failed.

2. Patch Distribution:

The Patch Distribution pie chart illustrates the distribution of patches across all devices, depicting the installed versus pending patches for each patch category. This nested donut chart provides insights into the types of patches applied and their statuses (Installed/Pending) for each classification type. It helps to understand the overall patch compliance across all devices by categorizing the patches into three classifications: Quality Update, Security Update, and Feature Update.

  • Outer Ring: Represents different patch classifications with distinct colors:

    • Functional Update
    • Security Update
  • Inner Ring: Represents the patch statuses (Installed and Missing) for each classification:

    • Installed Functional Updates
    • Installed Security Updates

3. Patch Pending:

The Pending Installation Trend line chart illustrates the trend of patch deployment actions initiated by the customer over the last 7 days. It highlights installation patterns with three lines representing Installed Patches, Pending Patches, and Failed Patches. The X-axis shows the time split over the last 7 days, while the Y-axis represents the cumulative count of patches deployed. Users can maximize, refresh, and filter the data based on classification. This chart helps identify patterns, track the progress of patch installations, and depict the ongoing progress of patch deployment actions across all devices.
