Locate Device

SureMDM Web Console can be used to real-time locate devices on a map. This feature also allows the admins to view the location history of the devices and export them in .csv format.

To locate an enrolled device, follow below mentioned steps:

1. Login to SureMDM Web Console

2. Select and highlight the device to be located

3. On Device Toolbar section, click on Locate

4. Next screen, click on Real Time tab to see device's real-time location on a map

5. Click on Add Device and select additional devices to monitor multiple devices at once

Note:  To locate an enrolled device, Location Tracking option on the device has to be enabled. Use Location Tracking option under Device Info to enable this option.

Tip: Use Blacklist option in Device Groups section to temporarily remove the device from Device List

To view location history of an enrolled device, follow below mentioned steps:

1. Login to SureMDM Web Console

2. Select and highlight the device to be located

3. On Device Toolbar section, click on Locate

4. Next screen, click on History tab to see device's location history

5. Click on Export to export the location history

Tip: SureMDM will record all the location coordinates in the history as per the value set in Tracking Periodicity however, to avoid any duplicate record of device location, use Modify to set Location Accuracy in meters. Once this value is set, SureMDM will consider device location within the specified distance as duplicate and exclude these records from the history.

To view location history of an enrolled device during a specific date or time, follow below mentioned steps:

1. Login to SureMDM Web Console

2. Select and highlight the device to be located

3. On Device Toolbar section, click on Locate

4. Next screen, click on History tab to see device's location history

5. Click on Modify

6. On History Data Time Selection prompt, click on Interval field to select the date and time

7. Click on Apply and then OK to view the location history of an enrolled device during a the specified date or time
