Overview

The Overview section provides a snapshot of critical metrics for effective update management. It consists of three main components:

Dashboard​

A centralized display presenting key update management data and insights:

  1. Updates Status: 

    This bar chart provides a comprehensive view of the overall update status across all devices, helping to quickly identify the gap between Eligible, Installed, Pending, and Failed updates. The chart uses different colors for each bar: Green for Eligible Updates, Dark Green for Installed Updates, Yellow for Pending Updates, and Dark Red for Failed Updates. It visually represents the following:

    • Eligible Updates: This represents the overall eligible update count. Hovering over this bar displays the count of eligible updates.
    • Installed Updates: Represents the overall installed update count. Hovering over this bar displays the count of installed updates.
    • Pending Updates: Represents the count of (Deployed + Pending Updates) that are not installed. Hovering over this bar displays the count of pending updates.
    • Failed Updates: Represents the count of updates which did not succeed on devices. Hovering over this bar displays the count of failed updates.
  1. Updates Distribution: This nested donut chart displays the distribution of OS updates.
  1. Updates Pending: This line chart illustrates the trend of updates pending installation on devices over the past 30 days, highlighting patterns and daily milestones. The X-axis represents the time split over the last 7 days, while the Y-axis shows the cumulative count of updates deployed during this period. The chart includes three lines for Installed Updates, Pending Updates, and Failed Updates, with daily milestones indicated. Hovering over these milestones displays the update count with pending updates. Chart controls allow for maximizing the view and refreshing the data to show only the most recent 30 days. 

Overview Tiles​

Visual elements summarizing essential metrics and statuses:

  • Eligible Updates: The total count of eligible updates for installation
  • Installed Updates: The total count of successfully installed updates.
  • Pending Updates: The count of updates that are pending for installation.
  • Failed Updates: The count of updates that have failed installation.

Table List Details​

Following are the updates identified by the device as available but have not yet been installed:

  • Published Date: Represents the date when the update was published.
  • Details: Provides additional details about the update.
  • Classification: Provides information about the** OS Updates.
  • Installed Devices:  Displays the count of devices where the update is installed.
  • Eligible Devices: Displays the count of devices that are eligible for the update.
  • Pending Devices: Displays the count of devices where the update has been applied but is still awaiting installation.
  • Failed Devices: Shows the count of devices where the update failed to install after retries.

Users can click on the Eligible Devices Count, Installed Devices, Pending Devices, and Failed Devices hyperlinks to view detailed information.

The following are the other options available on the overview page:

  • Set as default: Users can select a default platform (iOS, Windows, Linux, or macOS) by checking the 'Set as default' option. Once a platform is set as the default, the checkbox will be selected and disabled. To change the default, users can navigate to another platform from the dropdown menu, where the 'Set Default Platform' checkbox can be enabled.
  • Export: Exports the table data to be saved locally in CSV format. 
  • Search Box: Allows users to search for specific information.
  • Refresh Icon: Updates the table with real-time data.
