Time Fence (Windows)


Time Fence option creates a periodical boundary for mobile devices to behave or function in a specified way. Admins can configure policies on the devices by assigning jobs to execute when the device enters or exits this periodical fence.

To create a Time Fence job and deploy it to the enrolled device(s) remotely, follow these steps:

1.  Navigate to SureMDM Web Console > Jobs > New Job > Windows > Time Fence.

2.  In the Time Fence prompt, select Enable Time Fencing.

3.  Set the Option Time as 

  • Console time - Select this option to create fence based on the SureMDM Console's time.
  • Device time - Select this option to create a fence based on the user's device time.

     Note: Click Add Fence to add multiple fences. 

4.  Enter the Start Time, End Time and select the Days.

5.  Select Fence Entered tab, click Add to select the job(s) that will be activated on the device when it enters the periodical fence.

6.  On the Select Jobs to Add screen, select the multiple jobs from the list using Ctrl key.  

7.  Select the user from the following options, who will receive an alert when the device enters the periodical fence:

       Device -  Device user

       MDM - SureMDM admin

       Email - Recipient of the configured email address.

8.  Click Save.

9. Select Fence Exited tab and repeat the steps 4 to 7 to configure the settings when the device exits the fenced area..

      The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section

10.  In the Job Details window, enter a Job Name.

11. Go back to Home tab and select the Windows device(s) or group(s).

12. Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.

13. In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the job and click Apply.
