Geo Fencing (iOS/iPadOS)


Geo Fence option creates a virtual fence around a geographical location. Admins can configure jobs to be applied on the devices when the user enters or exits this geographical fence.

Note: Geo Fence requires GPS capability on the device. 

To create a Geo Fence job and deploy it to the device(s) or group(s) remotely, follow these steps:

1.  On the SureMDM Web Console, navigate to Jobs > New Job > iOS/iPadOS > Geo Fencing.

2.  Select Enable Geo Fencing.

3.  In the Geo Fence screen, Select Fence and type the location in the Search box.

4.  Click Draw a Circle (located on the right of the map) icon.

     Click and drag the circle in the desired location on the map. Once the location is marked, a prompt appears with Radius, Lat and Lgn details.

5.  Enter the Geofence Name and click Save.

     The newly created fence gets listed in the table.

6.  Select Fence Entered tab, click Add to select the job(s) that will be activated on the device when it enters the fenced area.

7.  On Select Jobs to Add screen, select the jobs from the list using Ctrl key and click OK. 

8.  Select the Alert Type from the following options, who will receive an alert when the device enters the fenced area: 

       MDM - SureMDM admin

       Email - Recipient of the configured email address

9.  Click Save.

10.  Select Fence Exited tab and repeat the steps 6 to 8  to configure the settings when the device exits the fenced area.

       The newly created job will be listed in the Jobs List section

11.  Go back to Home tab and select the iOS/iPadOS device(s) or group(s).

12.  Click Apply to launch the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt.

13.  In the Apply Job/Profile To Device prompt, select the job and click Apply.
